Roads Australia has been invited to send representatives to the 2009 Colloquium "Infrastructure for the nation's future".  It will be opened by Minister Albanese and is bound to be attended by significant industry representation.

Australia’s infrastructure is a vital factor in our long term economic performance. Key issues on Australia’s infrastructure and transport policy agenda will be discussed in a series of sessions as follows:

  • the global downturn, infrastructure and the Australian economy – outlook and issues;
  • infrastructure delivery – improving outcomes;
  • better urban planning – setting goals and strategies;
  • local government infrastructure – addressing pressures;
  • improving public transport in Australia’s cities – infrastructure issues and options;
  • urban freight logistics - what are the priorities? and
  • water for urban and local communities – what are the challenges?

The Colloquium will bring together industry, government and research leaders to encourage informed discussion and debate on issues that are fundamental to Australia’s economic and social well being.

I extend to you a warm invitation to take part in BITRE’s 2009 Infrastructure Colloquium.

I look forward to meeting you there.
