Message from the Council

Hi Fellows,
As we get nearer the end of another hugely successful year, it is a great time to reflect on the achievements of the Fellowship and YPs and use it as an extremely exciting platform from which to launch.
As we get ready to welcome the new Fellows to the cohort, escalate the Fellows’ Projects to the Board, recognise our outstanding YPs and absorb the impact the Fellowship continues to have on our industry, it is also time to appoint a new Chair and Deputy Chair, in which we are excited to announce at the Annual Fellowship Dinner on Thursday 21 November.
As high-impact individuals and leaders of our industry, I can guarantee the new Chair and Deputy Chair are going to take us to new levels across the Fellowship and YPs and I look forward to supporting them in their new roles.

Ross Campbell
Fellowship Chair

Sydney hosted its second Young Professionals event for 2019 where attendees heard about two of the biggest projects coming up in Sydney by the Program Director, Paul McCormick, and some the key infrastructure lessons learned from across the globe.

Paul spoke about the highs and lows of working on the biggest projects in Sydney, and around the world, providing insight into lessons learnt through his extensive career in infrastructure, providing the YP's with tips, lessons and a lot to think about for their future careers in the industry and ways to successfully managing work life balance.

We had over 250 attendees attend the breakfast, making it the largest YP event to date!

Eastlink Tour - Melbourne

Eastlink kindly extended an invite to RA to co-host a tour of the Eastlink operations/control centre, tolling gantry and various tunnel parts in August. The group of 25 were extremely thrilled at the opportunity to go behind the scenes and learn more about the way Eastlink operates.

Multi State Leadership Round Table with Andrew Head

Andrew Head, CEO, Westconnex sat down with our YPs across the country via teleconference to share lessons from over 20 years in senior leadership roles. Andrew provided the attendees with a very real, honest history that has lead him to become CEO of Westconnex, providing insight into the success and challenges he has faced across his career and the ways Andrew has grown and learnt from this.
