RA - Emerging Cities of the Future Forum - Western Sydney

13/07/2018 10:00 to 13/07/2018 14:00

Venue: Panthers Event Centre

This Sustainability Forum will focus on the growth of Western Sydney and specifically how the Western Sydney City Deal has laid out the steps the region needs to make to ensure a strong economic and liveable future. We’ll hear from a range of expert speakers from local and state government, industry and academia, who’ll unlock answers to key questions like:

  • What will the Western Sydney City Deal achieve for the region?

  • How can a focus on integrated transport and land-use planning deliver better outcomes for the community, the city and the broader state economy?

  • What are the factors that are likely to shape Western Sydney down the track, and have the opportunities and challenges that might arise for those delivering the services and infrastructure of the future been addressed in the City Deal?

  • How will active travel and new modes of mobility transform the city and the everyday lives of its residents? How will they impact on safety and sustainability?

Cr John Thain, Mayor - Penrith City Council

As Mayor of Penrith, Cr Thain has been a powerful advocate for Penrith and communities across our region. He has achieved remarkable results by fostering collaboration with other levels of government, our peer councils and the private sector.
