WA’s Director General of Transport, Richard Sellers, is our special guest for this exclusive industry roundtable.
Richard will provide a briefing on WA’s transport and road infrastructure pipeline with a focus on the skills, training, materials and equipment the state will need over the next four years.

Richard Sellers - Director General, Department of Transport
As head of the Transport portfolio, Richard is responsible for setting the strategic direction of transport in WA, shaping the development of a number of major integrated transport plans and leading the implementation of the State’s transformational capital projects.
Prior to his appointment in 2016, Richard held a number of senior roles in the public sector, including Director General of the Department of Mines and Petroleum. His stewardship of DMP during the busiest growth period of Western Australia’s resources industry was marked by innovations and significant reforms in a number of areas, including safety, the environment, approvals and administration, and was subsequently recognised by the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) with the awarding of the 2014 WA Patron’s Award and National Fellowship.
Richard currently holds the positions of Director General of the Department of Transport, Commissioner for Main Roads WA and CEO of the PTA.
