And while our contracting and consulting industries are focused on supporting and growing local skills and capacity, there remains an urgent need to supplement our workforce with skills from overseas.
In 2018, the Australian Government abolished the old 457 visa and replaced it with the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa. However, a lack of industry knowledge about the change - coupled with the ineligibility of a number of industry-critical skills sets – has resulted in fewer applications and/or delays across the transport and infrastructure sectors.
RA’s Capacity Stream is running a national series of workshops to show how to make the most of the TSS visa system, and to look at what we can do collectively to ensure the skills we need are included on the skilled occupations list.

OUR SPEAKER
Stacey Tsui, Global Mobility Immigration Director – Australia, PwC
 Stacey has 14 years of experience in corporate global immigration, specializing in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. She has worked with clients across a variety of industries including transport, engineering, IT, media and finance. She has managed large scale, cross border immigration programs and is a strategic immigration advisor.
In addition, Stacey is actively involved in government relations’ efforts with an aim to improve immigration processes and reciprocity across Asia. In recent times, Stacey has been involved in the preparation of strategic advice for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on regional migration issues.
Stacey hold a Bachelor of Law and Arts in International Studies from the University of Technology, Sydney. She is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and a Registered Migration Agent.
