| RA Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa Workshop (Brisbane) | 23/07/2019 | 10:00 | 23/07/2019 | 12:30 | Cardno Offices Brisbane | Australia is in the midst of the largest construction boom in its history. And while our contracting and consulting industries are focused on supporting and growing local skills and capacity, there remains an urgent need to supplement our workforce with skills from overseas.
In 2018, the Australian Government abolished the old 457 visa and replaced it with the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa. However, a lack of industry knowledge about the change - coupled with the ineligibility of a number of industry-critical skills sets – has resulted in fewer applications and/or delays across the transport and infrastructure sectors.
RA’s Capacity Stream is running a national series of workshops to show how to make the most of the TSS visa system, and to look at what we can do collectively to ensure the skills we need are included on the skilled occupations list.
