RA/ARRB Optimising Recycled Content Roundtable (Melbourne)
19/09/2019 11:00 to 19/09/2019 14:00
Venue: Collins Street Business Centre
Roads Australia together with ARRB are convening a roundtable on Optimising Recycled Content in order to advance the standards to allow for recycled materials in roads. By creating guidelines and standards for the use of recycled materials in pavements, we will enable their greater use in road infrastructure without impacting on service life, safety, connectivity-enabling ability, workplace health and safety (WHS) and environmental impact.
Following the consultation, ARRB will be seeking to begin a three-year research program, in partnership with Industry, to produce a step-change advance in the knowledge of characterising these materials and their subsequent performance.
As recycled materials begin to be implemented in to projects, the research will feed back the performance of these materials to further improve the guidelines and performance-based specifications. This will ensure long term delivery of safe infrastructure that performs equally to, or better than, virgin materials.
