Peter Regan, Deputy Secretary, Infrastructure and Place, Transport for NSW
Peter is the Deputy Secretary, Infrastructure and Place at Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). Infrastructure and Place is responsible for planning, developing and delivering transport infrastructure that capitalises on commercial opportunities to help develop liveable, vibrant places for the community.
Prior to this Peter was the Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Secretary Finance and Investment at TfNSW where he was responsible for ensuring strong financial management across the cluster of NSW Government agencies involved in the provision of road and public transport assets and services, managing a budget of over AUD 24 billion.
Peter has over 20 years of experience in infrastructure and project financing in both Australia and the UK, with a particular focus on the transport industry. He has a strong track record of delivering innovative outcomes through efficient use of public and private sector capital and expertise, and in the effective delivery of strategic priorities. Peter has successfully led the State’s motorway financing strategy over the past 6 years, culminating in the sale of 51% of the Sydney Motorway Corporation, and has also led the negotiation and successful restructuring of complex projects such as the Sydney Light Rail and Waratah train public private partnerships.
He has worked with NSW Government since 2011, including as the Chief Executive Officer for the Sydney Motorway Corporation, the Chief Financial Officer of the WestConnex Delivery Authority, and the Head of Infrastructure Finance at NSW Treasury. Peter was previously the Director of Corporate Finance at Transport for London (TfL). Prior to joining TfL he worked in Project Finance at Deutsche Bank and Corporate Finance at Price Waterhouse.
