Ben Ryan, Director, Melbourne Airport Rail, Rail Projects Victoria
Ben Ryan has worked at Rail Projects Victoria since 2019 heading up Melbourne Airport Rail, the transformational public transport project connecting Melbourne Airport to Victoria’s regional and metropolitan train network for the first time. He started his working life as a civil engineer at KBR in 2002, designing structural and civil elements of road and rail projects, including Hallam Bypass, William Barak bridge and Regional Fast Rail. In 2006, he worked with John Holland on the South Improvement Alliance, which was a project upgrading the Melbourne-Sydney railway line and then on a number of level crossing removal projects including Mitcham and Rooks Road level crossing removal, North McKinnon and Centre level crossing removals and finally as the Alliance Manager on the North Western Program Alliance.
